E-1 visa for investors
The E-1 nonimmigrant visa classification allows a national of a trade treaty country to be admitted to the United States solely to engage in international trade.
Requirements to apply for the E-1 visa

To be eligible for the E-1 visa, the treaty trader must demonstrate that he or she is a citizen of a country that maintains a Free Trade and Navigation Agreement with the United States.

The trade is of a substantial nature and is conducted between the United States and the treaty country that qualified the trader.

If the trader wants to bring in an employee to qualify for the E-1 visa, the trader must have the same nationality as the employer, special skills and/or aptitudes that make the employee's services essential to the efficient operation of the treaty business commercial.
